Who is this qualification for?
This is the first stage in becoming a fully qualified Beauty Therapist. Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy will develop your knowledge and skills to prepare you for employment as a beauty therapist.
Why is this qualification most suitable?
The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is a job ready qualification providing general skills and knowledge that employers expect of an entry-level Beauty Therapist. You will be able to provide basic essential treatments for relaxation, improving the condition of the skin and nail treatments.
What does this qualification cover?
VTCT qualification covers the following units:
- Provide facial skin care treatment
- Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes
- Carry out waxing services
- Provide manicure services
- Provide pedicure services
- Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
- Promote additional services or products to customers
- Responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
- Provide make-up services
- Fulfill salon reception duties
1 day plus a salon clinic day per week for 20 weeks, this includes two IQA assessments. Home study is required as this is a fast & intensive course.
Focus Awards has similar units as above but no theory exams.

What could this qualification lead to?
Completion of the Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma will provide students with an internationally recognised qualification and enable students to pursue employment as a Beauty Specialist in salons, health clubs, cruise liners, etc. or progress onto the VTCT Level 3 Advanced Beauty Diploma.
